For Black History Month, Quilted Education and PBS present Quilted Stories with Ms. Karen, a vibrant and imaginative video series that brings Black history to life through the eyes of Ms. Karen and her treasured, hand-stitched quilt. Each colorful patch on the quilt represents a Black historical figure from fields like sports, politics, science, civil rights, education, and the arts—each story thoughtfully stitched with care, purpose, and pride.

Told through a mixed media stop motion collage style, the animation blends fabric textures, cut-paper layers, and vintage photos to reflect the handcrafted spirit of the quilt itself. This tactile, playful aesthetic makes each episode feel intimate, imaginative, and rooted in tradition.

With warmth, wisdom, and a touch of magic, Ms. Karen guides viewers through heartfelt stories that honor the past and inspire the future. Her gentle narration and deep knowledge create an inviting space for reflection, learning, and pride. Quilted Stories is both a vibrant celebration of Black excellence and a powerful reminder of how storytelling can bridge generations, preserve legacies, and spark meaningful conversations across age groups and backgrounds.
